A new and distinct cultivar of Osteospermum plant named ‘SUNOST1704’, characterized by its relatively compact, upright to outwardly spreading and mounding plant habit; moderately vigorous growth rate; freely branching growth habit; dark green-colored leaves; freely flowering habit; daisy-type inflorescences with deep red-colored ray florets; and good garden performance.
