Abstract

The new and distinct hardy perennial Nepeta plant named ‘Chartreuse on the Loose’ has a broad, low-spreading mound, with compact habit and arching to horizontal stems. The new plant begins flowers in late spring and, continues until fall frost without deadheading. The flowers are lavender-blue with persistent rosy-purple calyces just above the complementing bright chartreuse-yellow, cordate, fragrant foliage. The new plant is useful in the landscape en masse, as an accent, or in containers to bring color and fragrance to a garden and attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
