A new and distinct cultivar of Hydrangea plant named ‘SCHROLL116-09-01a’, characterized by its compact, upright and mounded plant habit; moderately vigorous growth habit; freely branching habit and strong stems; large mophead-type inflorescences with light pink-colored sterile flowers that are initially greenish white in color during early development; long flowering period; and strong root system.
