A new cultivar of Hydrangea arborescens plant named ‘GRHYAR2008’ that is characterized by its inflorescences with flowers that are deep purple in color that change to red-purple in color and finally light purple-pink in color, its medium sized and compact plant habit, its large flower panicles, and its sturdy stems.
